The writing was written on the wall, oh maybe last July when the big signings took place. Hughes was never going to be a big enough name to fulfill the expectations of City supporters.

Really, sbacharach? ITYM 'owners'. Yes, a decent proportion of Citeh fans were restless, but they're not the ones who thought they could buy a title. It'll be interesting to see how long Mancini lasts if he's unable to work miracles.

I'm glad he's out...i never liked him. Still don't... Manchester City has become one of my favourite teams now... I mean, i always liked them...but when Hughes came over they went down my list of favourite teams.
I think my list goes like this now...regarding English teams, that is.
1. Aston Villa 2. Southampton 3. Leeds 4. Manchester City 5. Fulham 6. Arsenal
I think thats the current list now...not that anyone cares.

This on the day Rafa's Liverpool lost to bottom club Portsmouth. The lesson to learn for Hughes is that it's not victories that ensure your job, it's having large payoffs built into your contract.
