The Least Valuable Player Awards: Vernon Wells takes the American League award while Milton Bradley sucks equally over in the Senior Circuit.
I'd gladly pay the Cubs $10 million for five seasons to take Vernon Wells off our hands if it meant we could spend the other $10 million on a new CF once Bradley was out of town. That deal is going to handcuff whoever is in the G.M. position until it is off the books.

A scout once told me that Bradley is the only high school player he ever scouted who hit a home run and did not have a single teammate come out to congratulate him.
He's been an ass for a loooong time, apparently. I would release Wells outright before I paid him the kind of money he's scheduled to make.

You're thinking of football. Releasing Wells wouldn't change the terms of his contract. Unless he has a clause that pays him a little more for being released.

I'm calling it here first -- Vernon hits .285 next season with 30 dongs and 110 RBI. Not worth $20M a year, mind you, but more in line with what he's capable of.*
*I'm not just saying that because I just picked up a huge Vernon Wells baseball card collection and own one of his game jerseys. Not at all. Not one bit.

First thing I did was to check how they managed to miss Betancourt and Soriano for this, I thought they would be the clear winners. Looks like they were the runners up.
I can't imagine any player this decade who was worse than Yuni while still being an everyday player but I can live with it.

Neifi Perez was pretty bad.

Interestingly enough, there have been rumours of a Milton Bradley - Vernon Wells trade.
As a Jays fan, I'd do the deal in a heartbeat, were it a straight up exchange.
Unfortunately, the Cubs want each team to cover half of each players salary. That would be a deal breaker for the
small marketbottom line oriented Blue Jays ownership.Sorry, that was off topic.
V.W. is completely worthy of the award.
