It's Christmas day for hockey fans.: Today is the NHL's trade deadline. Will your GM be able to pull off the deal of a lifetime or trade your top player for a 3rd round draft pick? Stay on top of the day's wheelings and dealings with TSN's trade tracker.

Blues need a goalie. Blues need a goalie. Blues need a goalie.

TSN currently has about 14 on-screen employees to report on the 6 trades. It's nonsense. They should send everyone else home and just do a webcast of Jay Onrait blogging from home.

I'm watching the NHL Network's coverage. They look bored.

So far, Christmas day has been a disappointment. Santa might have forgot to come. Or we were really, really bad.

When I saw Mark Recchi had been traded to Boston, my first thought was "Mark Recchi has a son that plays in the NHL?" Nope, old Mark Recchi is still around -- which I'm sure any real hockey fan knows, but these days I am unfortunately limited for the most part to paying attention during the playoffs.

Depends on which Leclaire you get. 2007-08 or injury riddled 2008-09.

I think he's been shut down for the year.

I've read "never say never" about his (Leclaire) possible return late this season.

Having tried to stop watching the Bruins for the past 5 years or so (I got sucked back in just before last year's playoffs), I can't decide if I'm comforted or disturbed that it seems 80% of the league is made up of players from when I was watching regularly.

Well, the 'Canes got Erik Cole back. I'm really happy to see him sporting the sightless eye again, but we lost Justin Williams in the process. However, Justin has been injured, a lot, over the last two seasons.

The word around here has been he would likely be available for playoffs (if applicable). But, it definitely turned into a "Leclaire who?" situation around here, with the way Mason has played. Glad to see him land somewhere - hope it works well for him.

And now today for us to recover from our overindulgence. Plus I'm recovering from the news that I will lose A-Rod from my fantasy teams for 10 weeks!
