High Scoring College Football Teams: A composite listing of every team, so far, that has scored 500 or more points in a season.
College football fans enjoy it when their respective teams light up the scoreboard. During the 2007 season, a record of 30 teams have scored over 500 points (counting post-season scoring), through Navy's appearance in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl, Thursday night. The first team to score over 500+ Points in a Season was Princeton, 1885, when it scored 539 points. This past season, Mount Union OH registered 778 points, which is now the second highest all-time, surpassing Harvard's 765 scored in 1886--which was the highest single-season mark till 2004. In 2004, NCAA II team Pittsburg KS really light-up scoreboard lights with 837 points.
