KC Area Meet-up: I was going to email all of the SpoFites that I know are in the Kansas City area, but I found that a lot of you don't have email addresses in your profile. Anyhow, Tinman and I have been tossing around the idea of a meet-up, including possibly beer, barbecue, and a Royals game. Of course, all are welcome, even you St. Louis area Mizzou fans. I know brainofdtrain and monkeyhawkare in the area. Also BoKnows is in the St. Louis area, and it's only a four hour drive. My email is in my profile if anyone is interested.

It's possible, hawkguy. What dates do you have in mind?

Maybe early june, after it warms up. It's cold. I'd hate to sit through a night game right now.

By the way, I have to be in Philly May 10th through the 16th. Anyone interested in a Phillies game during that time?

We're gonna be driving through KC the first week of June hawkguy, but it doesn't look like the Royals will be in town. I'll send you an email if any thing changes in our plans or if we delay our trip by a week. (which is possible)

Sounds great. Doesn't seem like a lot of interest was expressed, anyway. I think a lot of the KC guys might not know the locker room exists.

I'll be in Lawrence from May 6th to the 12th. If something happens around then (not on the 10th, I'm busy that day), I'd certainly be interested.

Sorry, not headed to KC. But maybe you can refresh my memory on a great restaurant/bar, in Lawrence. Moose head on the wall (I think) Pool tables. Chicken/Country fried steak that's to die for? Maybe it was so good because we only stopped in on our way to and from Colorado Springs...so by the time we got there we were ready for a cold one. All I know is that we made it a point to stop in on the way there and back...on two different trips. As an aside, I'll be heading to an Indy Indians game (Friday) and the Indy 500 qualifying on Saturday. How early do I need to get to the track on Saturday if I want to park in the infield? Any help would be appreciated. Let me know if I need to bring an extra beer or three.

If it was down town, it sounds like Tin Pan Alley. There was a big sign over the door that said "Welcome to Tin Pan Alley. Eat and get out!" Do you remember if it was down town?

That had to be it, hawkguy. It appears as though it is now a Brother's. Too bad. (I guess, I've never been to a Brother's) Thanks.

Yep, Tin Pan Alley was where Brother's is now. Brother's in Lawrence has a real hip-hop vibe to it and really isn't my kind of place. Brother's in other towns I have been to are sports bars. I preferr Johnny's north of the reiver. Typical sports bar but amazing LCD's and food.

Agh. So, I was sick the entire time I was there (and am still fighting off this resilient spring cold), and didn't feel much like even breathing after 6pm. I'll be back, maybe we can do something next time I'm in town.

Be sure to take pictures. That's all I ask. (and not to hijack this thread or anything, but the NYC Spofite posse is probably due again.)
