EPL REPORT WEEK 22: Arsenal stay five points clear with 4-0 drubbing of Birmingham. [much more inside]

Thierry Henry scored his 100th goal for Arsenal yesterday to secure a five-point lead at the top of the Premiership. Pity Birmingham for being in the way. Man Utd (3-1 over last-placed West Brom) and Chelsea (4-1 over Charlton) keep up the chase. At the other end of the table, West Ham -- bottom of the table at the New Year -- welcomed lovable Lee Bowyer with a 2-2 home draw against Newcastle, which allowed them to climb one spot above last place. West Ham has yet to win at home this season. My beloved Liverpool continued their reign of boredom with their fourth draw in a row, a 1-1 beauty against Villa. Linkola!

I thought it was "Boring Arsenal". Props to McBride scoring his first Premiership goal against the Spurs.

Looks like Liverpool are gonna do something about that goalscoring problem: GET RUSHIE! Ian Rush is the striker I grew up watching, the guy who made a lot of Liverpool memories in my youth: 346 goals in two stints (16 years) at Liverpool (he played one year for Juventus in between), five league championships (pre-EPL), three FA Cups, one Euro Cup (pre-Champions League). Unfortunately, he'll only be coming on as part-time striker's coach. He can show Owen and the rest a thing or two. Now, if we could get Dalglish back as manager ...

Don't know much about Rush... How about if they get a new keeper coach as well...

You can't blame the keeper (or his coach) for bad defending by the 10 men in front of him. More goals! More goals!

I remember watching Rushie as a kid. I couldn't beleive such a scrawny little guy could be such a great soccer player.
