Venus's dad says she had a knee injury. Why doesn't Mauresmo do better at the French Open?

Three rounds in to the first tournament, and I am already mathematically eliminated from this competition. (This is based on a mathematical formula I devised which takes into account both my awful luck in fantasy games that don't involve baseball and Ufez's general brilliance, the calculation of which is based primarily on the mix CD he sent me.)

Ufez looks like the winner of this round to me as well. We will just have to hope that he botches one of the other tournaments.

Has anyone looked at the Point tracker at the Roland Garros site? I recommend if you are stuck at work and would like to see what's going on. It uses colored lines to track the ball and you can rotate the view all around the court.

I think this year Mauresmo's got a valid excuse. Venus...probably should have skipped this one, injury or no. She's capable of winning another Wimbledon, but not if she gets beat up in the French. I'm gonna come out at the low end of the curve on this one, but I still think I picked the champions.

The previously intact women's teams took their first hits as Amelie Mauresmo (groin injury) and Venus Williams (lead legs) exited the tournament. Oh well. There's always Wimbledon. telamarketersbeware was the only one to emerge unscathed from this round -- congrats, you savvy cuss! There will be eliminations in the fourth round as Hewitt plays Nadal. Meanwhile, Serena Williams has already advanced into the quarterfinals, where she will most likely face Henin. Things are getting interesting...
