Fantasy Basketball H2H league: Week 20 update. One and a half weeks to the playoffs, with at least two spots up for grabs, plus the first week bye up for grabs for the leaders.
I knew I should have saved my waivers for Artest and Odom. Smithers has to be the favorite now, but there are some seriously deep teams even in the middle of the pack. I predict it will come down to a couple of blocks or assists.

I can't believe Odom is back already. Like I said in the league post, I couldn't just take zeros from another player and expect to make the playoffs since Odom, Johnson and Delonte all went down simultaneously. Had my playoff spot been secured no way I would have dropped him. No matter, I didn't accomplish anything since I'm on the outside looking in. Bummer. Also in fairness, anyone could have had him off waivers. Smithers got him after he cleared.

God, that makes it even worse. I thought he was still on waivers. Don't worry, Yukon, no one is blaming you. It happens.

Could someone please remind me of how the playoffs work in this pool. I'm assuming I'm outta the hunt at this point, but who moves on and how? And, even if we're not in the playoffs for this H2H pool, will we be running a separate NBA playoff pool?

The playoffs work like two brackets: championship and consolation. If you keep your 12th place, you'll be in the consolation bracket, which means you have a shot at finishing 7th overall.

By the way, if you go to the league home page, then click on the playoff tab above the standings, you'll see the current playoff seedings.

I'd forgotten about the consolation bracket. My money is on Spitz.

Yeah, mine too. Both the Knicks and Spitz have been kicking butt for weeks, really affecting the upper standings.

yeah, but the Knicks also kicked my butt last week! Bottom of the heap standings are affected too, darnit!

You're like the 76ers: pissing away your shot at the Costanza by playing so well lately. ;)

I didn't think I got him off waivers....in fact, I stayed away with a 10-foot pole from the limited amount I knew about the injury. Like I said on the other board, I just happened to watch the right 5 minutes of TV. I also think we should wait and see how Odom actually performs with that chicken wing before anyone is declared a favourite. 9th-place Catfish is giving me all I can handle right now in a very tight matchup.

Even if he's limited, Odom will change your team. He's the only guy other than KG that gets close to 20 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists. And you've got KG, too!

Last week ruined my playoff hopes. I guess I made a bad trade. I didn't even think I would be playing but my travels keep getting pushed back. It seems like every guy I pick up immediately goes down, but a lot of injuries this time of year.
