UK Events: - thought I ough to post these links, just in case any ardent UK sports fans fancy going to the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards, or to see Simon Barnes, Lynne Truss and Sir Matthew Pinsent discuss why sport holds us in such thrall.

I've always wondered about the definition of "personality", since the BBC award has gone to both Nick Faldo and Nigel Mansell in the past. Although the Foyles session looks great. I so need a good sports bookshop. For those of us not in London, I trust you will report back to us, JJ.

Well it has nothing to do with achievement, because the man who has put on the single best sporting performance of the year doesn't even make the list.

I also ought to learn how to spell ought.
