So a few minutes ago I thought to myself, "Hey, isn't that Sportsfilter baseball fantasy league thing happening this weekend? I should go check on the exact time for that, right time zone, and make sure I'm all set to go when the big day happens". Turns out it happened a few hours ago. Ha ha ha... boy, don't I feel stupid. :( Folks, I got Carl Everett on my team, for god's sake. Carl Everett. Hoo boy...

How many people got in? I didn't join because I'm already committed to an ESPN league with people I've been losing to for several years.

There were 14 total, 20 would have been brutal but challenging, you should have gotten in though, it was pretty fun. hincadenza: it seemed like most people were there but it's almost impossible to tell.

We had a good turnout. The pickens got slim, I never drafted in a league this big.

corpse: there were some decent people to be found in the waiver list (and might still be)- no great starting pitchers or power hitters, but some decent upgrade players (like Ruben Sierra, who may have a very good year this year). I've been looking over my team, and I might not do too badly with a couple more trades as the season gets started. Don't give up hope! :)

I didn't miss the draft (well, I missed the first 5-6 rounds), and my team still sucks ;-)

Ah, gyc quit sandbagging. I like everybody on your team but Placido Polanco and Tony LaRussa says he's going to prove me wrong. corpse: usually if you miss a draft you end up with 4 third basemen or something, you got lucky. Besides you have the best team name.

okay, i think my team is going to work out okay. I'm interested to see if these young sprouts pan out. I do need a better catcher though.

Am I the only one who forgot to show up? I've been looking it over, and truth be told, it's actually not THAT bad a team- if only it were it a "real" team that had been put together for a mid-level payroll, we'd stand a good chance of putting together a nice season and making a playoff run. Ah, but in Rotissirie, I'm gonna get creamed by some of these All-World, All- Scott Boras lineups. Hoo-boy, indeed.
