Would anyone be interested in playing in a Sportsfilterer fantasy baseball league on Yahoo! when they open for business?

The fantasy basketball is great, but it sucks only 3 people are still actively playing. Fantasy baseball should be interesting, but I'm afraid fantasy sports are putting too much stress on me...

Since the draft was approaching, I was gonna ask if any one wanted to do SpoFi fantasy football. (It's the only sport which allows us all to take breather between games, ya know).

I'd be interested in fantasy baseball- but is it pay or free? If it costs money at Yahoo, and it's not too difficult to do, why not set up our own league at SpoFi?

Just tell me when to sign up, and when the draft is.

It's completely free (at least it was last year--knock on wood), it has it's drawbacks but it's less work administratively than about anything else. We probably should find a way to do the draft/auction privately, and I don't know if we should try to do it in a SportsFilter thread (it would work perfectly there if you ask me, but I wouldn't propose we put 1000 posts over a week into the Locker Room). Anyway, I posted this thread but I'm not trying to own it, if anybody wants to do something more elaborate than a Yahoo 5x5 rotisserie league, I'll play and even try to help. Wulfgar! I'm ready whenever for football.

yes, i'm the one playing incredibly bad. I have shaq, iverson, duncan, and I still can't get out of third place.

Wulfgar! I'm ready whenever for football. I'll pass on Baseball, but I'm definately in for Football. How soon is too early to get started, (the draft is comin' ya know)?

wulfgar!: all the leagues i have been in have waited until a good way through nfl training camp to have their draft. have you tried early drafting?

To be honest, I've only played fantasy football once, and I came in when the season was half over. Needless to say, I got my butt handed to me on a plate because the good players were already drafted. I do know a guy who played and they started pre-draft. You were required to draft so many rookies. I don't know how that affected the game, though.

I'm afraid I have have to gloat. I WON MEFI FANTASY FOOTBALL! YIP YIP YIP! Dig me! OK. Show's over. But, yes, you usually have to wait until the season starts to set it up. I am now sailing on the seas of fate with The Fightin' Chupacabras, my English Premier League Football fantasy team, and have my World Cup picks all registered too.

I would definitely be interested in participating. I'm afraid I've become something of a baseball fantasy addict. I participated in three leagues last year and still wasn't satisfied.

I would play, but imagine the fights we're going to have about the rules. What a bunch of geeks!

yes! i'm already playing some basketball with the mefi group that started awhile ago and it's a blast. Baseball would be more fun I think.
