Let's face it, the Bears survived the season with a 1950s offense and had a record over 0.500, only because they played in the worst division that the NFL has seen in years. They purposely let the field rot, thinking that such a move would keep the game low-scoring. Guess they forgot that good offenses love to play in slop, which gives the advantage to the passing game.
