errr, its the club who sets and 'gets' the transfer fee, not the player i'm dreading the upcoming transfer shakeout at Leeds, and would prefer to see Bowyer given some time in a successful side under Venables to remind him of what he'd be leaving behind

"and the attacking play it implies" it hasn't exactly been their mandate recently (more like counter-attacking), and i can't see why that would change now that their bench looks a touch stronger

Bridges is finally fit again, making Keane one of the more expendable players in the squad - especially after world cup heroics boosted his potential transfer fee i'm a huge fan of the lad, and would love to keep him, but he doesn't deserve to be a 4/5th striker although relations between the players and O'Leary haven't been great lately, everything points to this being a business decision rather than a footballing one - i dont think its cynical to notice that the club waited for the season ticket money to roll in before sacking him i'm really afraid about Rio heading to man u, they consistently score more goals than anyone else, partner that with great defence and no one else will have a look in - surely lufc must heed what happened with Cantona

F**K! as a leeds fan i'm obviously dismayed, if this has anything to do with rio moving to the scum, there is going to be an uproar too shocked to say much else really... obviously the club have spent a lot of money during O'Leary's tenure without much to show for it, but the timing of this announcement is very suspicous - if it was a performance related decision then surely he would of been gone at the end of last season

here in australia, the games run from 4:30-11pm, which is great i work freelance, so i've been able to spend many a happy afternoon down the pub watching 3 games on the big screen and england are doing so well :) pints of guinness so far: 74!!!!

with regards to that equalizing penalty, take a closer look at the lead up to the first senegal goal... forlan's strike was a cracker! what a shame he hasn't been able to reproduce that sort of form for man u :) all in all, what a great night of football! i even made it out to the pub (with a nasty cold, after an equally nasty long weeekend) to drink a pint or 7 of guinness and sing ireland into the next round with the draw the way it is, the upsets coming thick and fast, and the england team finally looking like a team - i can easily see them in the final - i'm certainly looking foward to the next couple of rounds!

there are 2 premiership sides from manchester :P yes he's worth it (although there aren't many sides around at the moment who could afford that fee) - but i dont think he'll macigally solve all of the problems with man u's defence either as a leeds fan, all i can say about our pre-season so far is 'what f**king next?!' and i also hope that rio breaks his leg sometime before the start of the champions league
