I think its about time Steve Smith got some credit. The Bears didn't choke, they just weren't good enough to stop Smith. ...umm, The guy fell down, twice!!!, that was 100 yards and 12 points right there. Technically the Bears could have lined up with 10 players and left Smith uncovered and the results would have been the same. If two uncontested TDs against the #2 NFL defense is not choking, then its close!

I'll save my predictions on Smith's future I'd wait about 80 tds just so we can compare apples to apples If he could start in the Superbowl on a partially healed ankle fracture I would be sure.

This is somewhat easy to defeat. You could easily take the MLB data and repost it with different coded values. You could then release a code reading key, that would reveal the true MLB values. They could then be accumilated for further evalulation for point distribution. This was how the early filters on Napster were defeated, although that didn't work out exactly as planned ! The copyrighting of the statistics would create an undergroud market for the fantasy leagues. they could operate off shore like a casino .

The NFL actually admits a mistake by a referee Could any point be anymore moot? How about the Colts last play TD in 1995? How about Mike Renfro 1979?

A judicial decision that game statistics are property would have effects beyond these games. If I am given a baseball scorecard at Yankee Stadium, will I have to sign a non-disclosure waiver? or pay a Microsoft-like lisencesing fee? How about if I memorize statistical information from the game, then post it on my blog?

thought the Panthers/Bears game was the best played game of the weekend Yea, #33 Charles Tillman, DB for the Bears. It was the best game he ever " watched ", too! Well, he only fell down twice, which only led to 2 tds. The other times he was beat were between the 20's!

This is an information society. Information storage and retrieval are big buisness. So is information theft. This is the begining or perhaps the continuance of an Orwelian type of information control. The greater the control of the information the more profitable the information for those who control it.COPYRIGHT2006-gronir_hitrops* * I will sue your ass!

Maybe it is my conspiratorial mind at work but, the replay has opened up another tool for the puppet masters. The refs seem to consistantly call close plays the way that would most likely lead to a replay. (the fumble through the endzone as a td) they already knew that the play would be negated, if they called a touchback.( because of the personal foul) The chances of Fox not challenging the TD call were slim and none, and slim had already left town. Who Cares? Big Deal, So what?. I think that once it's in the replay booth, a team of league "officials" decide the fate of football humanity, not unlike the Robert Deniro character in "Wag the Dog". A professional Mr Fix It. Why you ask? I haven't really thought this all the way through yet but I'm working on it!

Diamond Rings: Tom Brady (6th Round) 3 Manning Family (3 1st Rounders)0 Didn't see Tom blame his team for the lost last night. Colts have had the tools for years but they are rightfully cursed for sneaking out I am still in shock that I just saw a hand picked media darling NFL chosen son piss all over his teamates. Trying to be a good teamate?WTF! It is incredulous. Brady had worse protection then Manning. Nobody was even blaming Manning. He just punted his reputation as a regular guy-"Cut that meat!"... Indeed.

And can you believe Manning blaming the O-Line after the game? What a jerk! I never like him. I like him less now. The whole team wins or loses. posted by STLCardinalfan at 6:56 PM CST on January 15 Easily the lowest moment of Mannings career. Maybe the worst statemnt after a loss I have ever heard, WOW! This is public appology type territory

This continues the streak of sons of NFL QBs not winning in crucial games. I am still trying to figure what that passive agressive comment by Manning about the pass protection was all about! That sounded like a Terrell Owens-type dig at the O-lineman or the coach. Does he think because he prefaced the statement with " tryin' to be a good teamate" , he will get off the hook. Nice try! VanDerJakt made no new friends but, everybody hates him anyway. Dungy will be saved by the personal crisis exemption and the fact that Cowher still has him out choked in big games. I had always given Manning the benefit of the doubt, but today could have been his Marino-ization. Big Ben continued to to impress, especially the season saving tackle on the Bettis fumble.Mannings reputation will need a major overhaul!
