Mike Blowers sees the future: The Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays are out of the playoff race. The radio broadcast of their game on September 27th probably didn't have a lot of listeners on Sunday morning in Seattle, but those who were listening got to hear a wild prediction by Mariners' color commentator and former player Mike Blowers on the pregame show, and the subsequent hilarity in the broadcast booth when his prediction came true.

Oh hell yes, put a microphone in front of Richard Sherman right as the game ends, before he has time to get his head out of game mode. My love for Erin Andrews keeps growing.

Haven't watched a lot of Seahawks games, but I'll say that they generally seem play boring, to be honest.
A dominant defense, great special teams, field position, and a conservative, run-based offense that doesn't make mistakes. Let me tell you how strange it is to be a transplanted Buckeye in Seattle, rooting for a Pete Carroll-led team that wins by playing Tresselball.

Stephen Pryor got his first major league victory in a no-hitter. File that one away as a future trivia question.
There's some good video here, including Dee Gordon's two at bats that each took an outstanding defensive play to preserve the no-no.
The best part was catcher Jesus Montero after the last out. Everybody else was happy, but Montero had just caught a no-hitter and he was stoked about it.

Beast mode indeed. That run was insane. Don't miss the crotch grab as he dives into the endzone.

Pete Carroll: NFL Should Consider Medical Marijuana
This is the Super Bowl Media doing what it does. Pete Carroll gave a measured but thoughtful answer to a rambling question about what others have said about marijuana. The reporter was trying to land a sucker punch, and in fact took a second swing when the first one didn't land. Watch the whole exchange here. It's at almost the very end. Regardless, the story is presented as "Pete Carroll thinks drugs are a-ok." Because duh, this is the Seadderal Seahawks we're talking about.
It's like a sport for the reporters. They'll surely find some easier targets this week. Carroll is pretty good at this.
