Jayson Taylor feels that a suspension for steriods should include a ban from certain postseason awards.

Chico- did I miss something? I looked over the whole thread and never saw a quote that said "Won't someone think of the children?" If you are referring to what I wrote you are uneduacated and assuming things that weren't said. There are in fact kids in HS that think PED's will help them get to the next level. Promoting players that are admitted users of those substances sets a bad example, like it or not. And WTF is "reaching for your revolver" supposed to mean. Are you construing threats big man or contemplating suicide? Be clear about your intentions. In my line of work it could mean the difference between your life or death.

Actually LT never got popped for steroids. The drugs he did were a detriment to his career and not performance enhancing. Nonetheless, I can see and somewhat support your argument in the grand scheme of things. If Shawne Merriman were on weed, alcohol, no sleep and crack (like LT) then I doubt he would be in the running for MVP. Not that that makes a role model either. But we are talking apples and coconuts.

Shawne should get the "This is how you get to the big leagues" award. He can stand proudly with Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds, Ken Caminiti and all the other big heads that took shortcuts and won awards. I could care less about whether he is Defensive MVP or not- he is a cheater and he and all the other cheaters are sending the wrong message. If you want to be even better- just juice. What a load of crap. I can see high school kids all over saying "It made these guys champions and make it to the pro's, I am good, but with the right edge I can get there too". (Yes- that does happen, I have seen it and discussed it with athletes I have coached). Great role models!

2007 NFL Draft.

The reason Notre Dame gave this year about playing Navy every year was: "So that we could play for all of the East Coast fans that we have". The fact that it is one of the few places that would accomodate more Notre Dame fans than the home fans is just a bonus (and an easy Win). I agree that Brady Quinn could be a very good QB in the pros, he seems to have most of the tools. We got a bit off subject with the ND thing and I just added a link I found while trying to find their schedule for the past few years. It is an amusing link if I must say so myself.

2007 NFL Draft.

C'mon lets ease up on Notre Dame, after all they are one of our military service academies. Who else plays Army, Navy and Air Force every year? Maybe they truly are the "Fighting" Irish. Here is a link to show just how superior they are to all the non-believers- http://www.notredamesucks.org/

LaDainian Tomlinson is Sportsman of the Year.

Actually the player has to agree to be on the cover of Madden. It has nothing to do with previous MVP. Daunte Culpepper was never the MVP of the league, nor was Ron Mexico or many of the others that graced the box.

2007 NFL Draft.

Troy Smith will end up being another black QB running trick plays and returning kicks in the NFL Learn the game before popping off about "black quartebacks". Fact is Joe Theismann, Rich Gannon, Matt Jones, Eric Crouch and many other "white quarterbacks" were "reciever/return" prospects when they came out due to speed and overall athletic ability. The fact that so many "black and white" quarterbacks can make an adjustment and play other positions in the NFL after playing a different position in college tells me they were well coached, studied well and had a knack for the overall game that most can not grasp.

2007 NFL Draft.

I can't believe that Smith was only the eighth ranked quarterback on the list and Colt Brennan of Hawaii didn't even make the list.

Arenas On Kobe: "My Numbers Are Blowing His Out Of The Water"

Arenas has been playing phenomenal. He donates $100 for each point he scores to a local (DC Metro area) school, a different school each game. He plays and composes himself with class. Wow, Bryant blasting someone for taking "Kobe" shots and going to the line a "Kobe" number of times. Everyone knows Kobe would never shoot 30 plus times in a single game.
