Somebody won't vote for Ripken and Gwynn for the HOF? Cal and Tony are the ones I would definitely vote in. After that, I would probably inform Cooperstown not to send me any more ballots.

I wonder what will happen if these two jerks get season ending injuries? Will punishment be delayed until they are healed? If I were an opposing coach, I'd get my hardest hitters and tell them to go get 'em! And people wonder why the Claretts, Strawberrys, Goodens, etc. are so arrogant and always in trouble!

Basically, the (New York) Cosmos killed the North American Soccer League. By getting all the best players on the roster, they were in a class by themselves. I was a Cosmos fan from 1977 until the team folded in 1985. I loved winning the NASL championship almost yearly, but over the years I have realized that the Cosmos are the reason the NASL no longer exists.

Can you imagine what Mikulik would do if he was a coach at the World Cup?

To keep this on sports, I think it would be ironic if Danny Almonte was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals and was sent to their NY-Penn (short-season single "A") team. The irony would be that the team is located in State College, Pennsylvania, the team his Bronx LL team kept from from getting to the 2001 LLWS. To add even more irony, they could have his be the starter for their second game, which will be played in Williamsport, PA!

Zidane to bite Big Apple?
Have people forgotten that Zinadine Zidane was given a three match suspension by FIFA for his headbutting fiasco durng the Final? He would have to miss the first three matches he would be scheduled to play. I did find it somewhat funny though that FIFA gave a retiring player a three match suspension. I guess they figured he might change his mind.
