Keane leaves Man U: "Roy Keane has dramatically and unexpectedly left Manchester United by 'mutual consent' after more than 12 years at the club." While this move comes on the heels of controversial statements made by Keane about the club and teammates to MUTV (the club's TV channel), it nevertheless is massive shock to football fans pretty much everywhere. And it brings up lots of questions, the most interesting of which probably where he'll end up. Celtic, maybe?

Jim Bunning wants changes to the Veterans Committee:: he seems to think that they need to elect someone every year, whether they feel there are worthy candidates available or not.

Inter Milan cancel England tour due to safety concerns: Wow. Needless to say, people aren't happy, and the old chestnut about "giving in to the terrorists" is already bouncing around. Is this just good, safe policy or total overreaction?

According to Slate, men don't wear jock straps any more: And football players don't wear cups! Good lord, people-- is this true? What about the flopping, and the helmet impacts, and the things I can't even imagine? What are you thinking?
