from calgarypuck.com I'm not sure if anyone else has been checking this site with regularity, but all season it has been advertising the NHL lockout and the essential suspension of programming. I haven't checked in the past week, but I just surfed by the site and low and behold they are advertising a "half season offer". Okay, I am now willing to finally admit that something is up. The NHL will indeed be back in business in the next two weeks. There is no reason to change the ad if you are not going to get a whack of progamming in short order! - Lanny McDonald The link he speaks of.

yeah, yeah I know it's a lockout, but all the players have to do is accept that a cap is part of the new CBA and go from there. an interesting post at the hockey forum I visit. No offence taken. I guess my post should have been made at collectivebargainingfilter.com. I have had a morbid facination with this situation since the beggining in regards to collective bargaining and human behavior. The link I posted to the forum isn't MY forum, it's the forum I visit and has some pretty sharp people posting there. I don't post very often. Basically with this post I wanted to be the first sitting around the television watching tribal council to exclaim who is getting voted off. That is the point I am at as a 20 year hockey fan. Again. IF the players throw away the season?? I would have a lot of trouble watching these guys again KNOWING they are that stupid. I'm trying to think of a survivor analogy to the players throwing away the season, the best I could come up with is when a small alliance votes off the strongest competitor early in the game. I know that's wrong, but it's one of those things that ruins the game. I believe the players are somewhat cornered and have to try and make the best deal they can right now, because it's the same deal they are going to get next September. 9 months is an eternity when you look at how short their careers are. Delete this thread if you want Mods, as I said, I wanted to be the first to get the answer right in class. Annoying yes, but it keeps the ego fed for a little while.

I was lucky enough to watch this guy in High School. He is not the latest little guy to be hyped by the NBA. Give him something he can't do and he'll do it. I also saw him play Rugby which he had never played before, nobody could hit him, very sturdy on his feet and seemed to understand the rules very quickly.

Not Miracle on Ice, but congrats to the Greeks. I am relating better with Portuguese being a Flames fan. Though I kind of wish we had lost to the Greece instead of Tampa Bay.

I wanted to see Jones humbled as much as the next guy, but I have a few reasons why I don't agree Tarver crushed Jones. It was a good but lucky punch. 1) Jones was working him in the first round, although throwing lead rights was a bit arrogant. 2) Jones thought he caught him with a right, so did I, and then got caught with the Tarver Left hook. 3) Jones was up for the 10count, he could have ran out of the round I think. 4) I would have prefered Tarver to be beating him and then set him up for this for true dominance to be trumpeted. I don't think Tarver had landed anything untill this punch. 5) Tarver is a South paw, to me, it's an unfair advantage. I think a rubber match is in order, although I find watching Lefty's uncomfortable.

Get a grip. They are using you to sell beer. This is the reason I say that. I've never seen so many repetative beer comercials as I have during a Maple Leaf telecast (believe me, I've had to watch a few, way to many in the Ballard years). The tv ratings are huge, the ticket prices are scandalous, what are they waiting for?

Two words. Damaged Goods(back). Or should I say damaged goons the way Roberts(shoulders, chicken neck), Tucker(suspended, beat up by Sens trainer), Domi(suspended, eyebrows impair vision and trys to beat up lady bing nominees, goof), Corson(mental issues) and the rest of the protein shake dorks conduct themselves out there, I guess Nolan can learn to hit from behind, take out knees and kick skates in fights by the best of 'em. I feel sorry for him having to play for a team that is never going to spend what it takes. They don't need to, the moronic fans keep watching that cheap garbage they are putting on the ice and even pretend to get excited about it. Get a grip. They are using you to sell beer. They are still 3 or 4 skilled players away from being competative in a conference final. At least he's not far from Detroit now.

K1
I've been watching MMA for a couple years now, and would have to say I like it as much as boxing of which I have been a fan since I was 8 years old. There is a great reality show on spike right now about the UFC. There is a UFC PPV this Saturday which will be VERY entertaining. UFC has come a long way from tough man contests. These guys are amazing athletes. I think a lot of them are more commited to their sport than many boxers. MMA is a legitimate sport IMO.
