I'll not criticise the man. Seen one of the gutsies performances in World Series history at 2nd game in 2004. Ole bloody socks (as somebody so casually refer) pitched a hell of a game against a very potent lineup and gave me a trilled to see ole time baseball again. I don't care if the guy grammer or spelling is so incorrect to dimished the pure joy of watching a skillfully pitched game, and that I thoughly enjoyed-albeit my team lost the game and the series.

Don't like sportwriters asserting control. Do something about it other than complain-become a sportwriter and show them guys some intregity. If you don't like Schilling blog. Don't read it. If he's to self absorbed, why bother. The guy can't spell, has lousy grammer-so what. Guy makes millions every year and I sure he waiting to hear all your criticisms. Go ahead and post on his site -if posting is available. He probably thank you for all the information you can relay about being arrogent and a bad speller with poor grammer.

What do you want from me? I tried to settle a arguement between a couple of guys and you don't agree with my reasoning. I wasn't trying to insult you in any way. I want to know, if you know, the reason Detroit made this deal. All you want to do is argue until somebody gives up... ok, I give up. Will that satisfy you? I'm not hear to cause you embarrassment, I was only trying to settle a arguement with a fresh perspective...that's all.

justgary do you have a inside track to the the Detroit front office and their mindset? If you do, please forward your source, so all of your fellow bloggers are privy to this inside information.

Look guys, you comparing apples and oranges. Let's give a example-suppose two pitches were on the market and both teams wanted to trade. Pitcher A was a 20 game winner and pitcher B was A 10 game winner. A had a ERA of 5.5 with his current team averaging 6.5 runs per game. B had a ERA of 2.5 with with his current team averaging 3.7 runs per game. Which player would you choose if all things are equal? It depends on the team and run production. Era is probably the best stat to choose for one team where wins may be better for another. Wins are important, however you always must calculate that pitcher into the overall formula of the team trying to make the trade.

I'll have to admit to being shocked at some of the ah....saying in the document. I've been to many little league, minor and professional baseball games in my lifetime and have never heard such colorful language. I guess the warning must have worked...albeit when Billy Martin was managing.

budman-I got a sense of humor, especially when I hear stupid rant from fellow Missourians with the IQ of a squirrel. I was at the game at Arrowhead and alot of the crap was started by Mizzou fans. If your whole reason for living is Kansas teams being beat instead of the Tigers winning the Big 12 conference, may I suggest you take up another sport to be a fan.

budman 13-Give it a rest. Mizzou got beat in spades and quit making stupid remarks about Kansas. Sure your disappointed and so am I. That doesn't change the fact that Kansas had only one loss. If you don't stop all this Kansas idiotic nonsense everybody on this sight will think we are a bunch of sore losers instead of being proud what our boys accomplished this year. We improved greatly, the Tigers gave us some exciting moments and brought back alot of fans that were standing on the sidelines. So don't demean a great season by the Tigers by making stupid comments for the whole damn country to see.

How the hell are you going to prove who's right in a disagreement with a sporting challenge? Just ignore him. Sometimes reasoning with the unreasonable is a futile effort. Calling him names is not making your point very well and actually makes you look like a idiot. If you don't agree with his opinion-ok. It's free country.

Boxing is a science as I remember in my younger days (boxed as a kid) at Boys Club. I was into it pretty good, however my skills were marginal at best. It did teach discipline and respect for your opponent and that's what puzzels me with the fight game in the last 30 years- all the trash talk. Everything has to be a big promotion to generate interest in the contest. Years ago prior to Ali, I don't remember most of the altrications at weigh ins and interviews. Maybe it good for business, but I think it takes away from a truly great sport.

Cave_Man-Your not going to watch the game if a SEC team is not playing. Sounds like if one of the your teams (which you consider superior) were playing for championship, your more than willing to abide by the current system. But, since they are not, your bitter because of the current status quo. I may be wrong in my assumptions, but it sounds like taking your marbles home if not getting your way. I'm curious if you watched the championship game last year when Florida played against Ohio State under the BCS poll system. If you did not, please excuse me for the assumptions.

But does anybody think that Missouri could win a playoff series facing these three opponents on consecutive week? **NO WAY** I find it hard for any team to beat these teams on consecutive weeks. Plus, a playoff system would be designed where these teams would not have to played on consecutive weeks. That being said, Lil O' Missouri would make a game of it against these teams and isn't that what college sports is all about.

I'm not sure Cave-Man why you would not watch the teams that are in contention for chamionship bowl. Is it that Missouri or W. Virginia are not deserving if they win their remaining games? Is Florida, USC or LSU more deserving with the losses they incurred this season? USC and LSU both loss to unranked teams and Florida had 3 losses. I'm not sure if your logic is reasonable as many Missouri fans would watch whoever is in the national championship b/c they enjoy college football. I'm sure Stanford was not suppose to beat USC or LSU losing to Arkansas and Kentucky. However they did, and to take away from the teams in contention because you think the other conferences are in weaker division is shortsighted to say the least. All the Polls I see say otherwise, and they say #1 and 2 are Missouri and W. Virginia.

The playoff system is probably the way to go, however some provision must be made for the number of games by each conference. Some teams play more than others and that make it inequitable for a playoff scheme. If some compromise could be reached....saying 10 games to be played with no conference championship. This could possibly work. Getting all the teams to give up conference playoffs is going to be tough. If some system for the conferences could be worked out, like the playoff contenders in the NFL when identical records are posted. Also, you are still going to need a seed postioner that is acceptable to all conferences. I see this as the hardest hurdle to overcome due to the weaker conferences. Since I'm a Missouri fan, I say this with tongue in cheek.

Whenever somebody passes at a young age and under these circumstances it's senseless and tragic. My prayers and best wishes go out to the family in their hour of sorrow. Making disparaging remarks about a person that passed is classless and without merit. Better to offer condolences and leave it at that.

Just got back in home from K.C. Game was great and believe me there are no bad seats at Arrowhead. Only fan that was rowdy was my son, had to much to drink (had to send him to the corner for a while). Kansas was very impressive in the 2nd half and have nothing to be ashamed of. Jayhawks had a wonderful season and I hope they get the bowl game they want by the end of season. Congrads to all Jayhawk fans for a very impressive season.

I'll be at the game on Saturday and believe me, this is gonna be one hellofa game. I'm a Mizzou fan and will be rooting for the home team, but the Tigers are going to have their hands full with the Jayhawks. The only trouble is I'll be surrounded by KU fans. I heard they can get pretty roudy and to make matter worst , beer will be served! Looking forward to good and safe (for my sake) game.

US goalkeeper Hope Solo talks about World Cup fiasco
Don't know much about soccer, especially international scene. Posted to get reaction for Solo's criticising teammates and coaches from fellow bloggers and if any leeway is given soccer players as opposed to other sports. Thanks for your responses.
