For the last three or four years, I have run a PGA TOUR fantasy golf league with friends and co-workers. It has been relatively succesful, though low-key, with about 7-11 teams in each season. Winning share is usually about $250-350. Season: PGA TOUR schedule is broken up into thirds (Mercedes-Masters, Hilton Head-British Open, John Deere-TOUR Champ.) and each third is a new 'season' for our league. (Keeps things fresh) This will be the third season of the 2002 PGA TOUR schedule. Teams: Teams are drafted fresh at the beginning of each season, using an auction style of bidding with a salary cap of $100 (fantasy $100). The auction+salary cap has proved to be a good system to balance out the Tiger effect and provide fairness throughout. Because it's an auction-style draft, all participants must be present to get in-NO DRAFTING BY PHONE/PROXY. Scoring: Each week, I add up the earnings of the players on each team from that week's PGA TOUR event. The team with the most total $$$ at the end of the season wins. Pretty simple, no silly stats. Fees/winnings: Each team captain must ante up $50 to join. Adding and dropping players costs $2 per player aded. The pot is split 70% to the winner, 20% to 2nd and 10% to 3rd. Any questions...any interest?

I guess that's a 'no', so far. Oh well.

I'm in - I'll pick up my ticket at Brisbane airport. I'm assuming that transport to the draft is included in the entry fee?

For a second I thought you meant Brisbane, California, which is just south of San Francisco. Darn. By the way, dg, when we start accepting columns to be submitted from SportsFilter members, I would love to read one from you about Unlimited Outboard Hydroplane racing, with links to sites and pictures. Are those the nuts who race on rivers and lakes and crash into stuf, flip over, etc.?

Yes, that's the ones. I would be honoured to provide some articles on my particular way of risking my neck.
