NBA-powered U.S. team finally falls: The basketball universe changed forever Wednesday night. Argentina pulled off a victory that until recently was considered nearly impossible, defeating the United States 87-80 in the World Championships. It was the first loss for a U.S. team in 59 games since the Americans began sending NBA players to international tournaments in 1992.

Rocker Sent to Minors by Rangers: "John Rocker and his troubled career are headed to the minor leagues. The left-hander was optioned to the minors early Wednesday, hours after he blew a save for the Texas Rangers in the 10th inning against the Anaheim Angels." Tiger Woods successfully defends his title
Jack Nicklaus and Nick Faldo have some company in their ultra-exclusive fraternity. Tiger Woods cruised to his third green jacket -- and seventh major -- today, shooting a steely 71 at Augusta National to join Nicklaus (1965-66) and Faldo (1989-90) as the only repeat winners of the Masters. Tiger has certainly positioned himself as one of the best to ever play the game.

ESPN is looking to expand their viewership with the networks' first original movie. The made for TV film "A Season on the Brink" stars Brian Dennehy as the legendary and incendiary Indiana Hoosiers basketball coach Bobby Knight. With (parent company) Disney's back up, I think this will be a move in the right direction for the network as long as they keep the film projects original and relevant.

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Exclusive
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue hits the news stands today with Yamila Diaz-Rahi as the cover girl. The great annual debate now commences. Does this content belong in a sports magazine? My view: If curling is a sport, so is this.

The debate as to where and when the Tyson-lewis fight will happen continues. Even politicians are sluggging it out concerning the issue. Governor Roy Barnes of Georgia says he doesn't want a "sexual predator" boxing here, but some Atlanta lawmakers and others say the Mike Tyson-Lennox Lewis heavyweight bout would be a good opportunity to generate sales tax revenue. Has this become a battle between doing what's right or doing the "right thing"? Which side are you on? Meanwhile, Lewis' camp is saying that the fight will happen as early as june

In tonight's NBA all star game: Kobe Bryant scored 31 points and took the MVP honors. The win was bittersweet as fans booed and showed their disapproval to the Philadelphia native. I suppose that the philly fans would rather have seen Kobe play for the 76ers. But that's not his fault, during the 1996 NBA draft the 76ers had first pick and they chose Allen Iverson instead. Guard Allen Iverson on the other hand, also a good player, Philadelphia’s favorite son and winner of the 2001 NBA all star MVP was held down to only 5 points in his own building tonight. So what's with the booing? the rumour is that Philly sports fans have a reputation that precedes them
