Sally Jenkins has an interesting article on the bloated Super Bowl and how far the NFL can dip into our pockets before we say "Enough!"

Didn't Se-Ri Pak make the cut on the Korean Men's Tour a few years back? Regardless, congratulations to Michelle. I think she needs to learn how to win on the LPGA before tackling the PGA full time, but what does a bogey golfer like me know?

If NCAA Division I football is a sport (judged), then skating is a sport

Ah, most normal people say stuff they don't mean when they're angry. I'd have used strong language if a guy told me to kiss his ass. He made a mistake, he apologized - cut him some slack. If Millen had yelled "You nigger! Yeah, you heard me. You nigger!" He'd be unemployed today, and probably never work in football again. Letting him get off with a non-apology apology just re-enforces the fact that its acceptable to bash gays. I love football, but I'm through spending any money on the NFL.

I was listening to Mike and Mike this morning, and they were talking to Peter Gammons about the test results. Gammons made a statement that upwards of 70% of the players in the union wanted mandatory testing so that their names would be cleared. Also, I thought the players were warned ahead of time about the tests, so the ones who got caught were really stupid. If thats true, it seems to me that the number of players doping would be a lot higher.

Cleveland Indians official shop, is this a Chief Wahoo type logo? lilnemo, you don't find Redskin disparaging, or you don't find Braves/Indians/Chiefs/Seminoles disparaging?

I think rcade was referring to the Redskins losing the rights to trademark because the term Redskin is disparaging. And for the record, I don't buy Easterbrook's argument that Braves and Seminoles aren't disparaging. I'd be willing to bet that I could find Native Americans who are offended by the use of these terms in reference to a sports team.

As a Redskins fan, I'll bite. I actually enjoy Fedex Field. What I don't enjoy is getting to it, and leaving it after games. I've sat pretty much everywhere in the stadium and always had a good view of the field. I think Spurrier is learning since the 'Skins let Danny Worthless go. I'm hoping that Kornheiser is correct when he says that Spurrier learned from his pre-season blow-outs last year and is playing his cards close to the vest this pre-season. Regardless, I'm so glad the NFL season is here. This is the best time, when all of our teams are undefeated and playoff-bound.

Sean Avery gets criticized, for, uh, not being a jerk.
Now I have to like Sean Avery after being such a pest on the ice? Goddammit.
