Riley steps down as Heat head coach.

Van Gundy screwed up Michael Finley's senior season at Wisconsin pretty nicely. He was Stu Jackson's top assistant and stepped in when Jackson took the GM job with the Grizzlies. He proceeded to waste a team that included Finley and Rashard Griffith and was shown the door pretty quickly, giving way to Dick Bennett. In the process, Stan earned the nickname "Van Gone-dy." I'm guessing he might play a similar role in Miami.

You're really going to to with "man enough" for Rush? Even after he quit and on the Friday of a week where he's refused to answer any questions? And how is being just plain wrong and adding an unnecessary racial element to it "man enough"? Sapp doesn't have many bad games, but I can't imagine he'd refuse interviews after one. Sapp is a sap? Good one. How long have you been waiting to use that?

Why, again, is Limbaugh on a pre-game show? And are we to assume that these shows will continue to descend into idiocy, leading eventually to casts made up entirely of strippers and talk-radio hosts? I guess I don't understand why anyone cares what Limbaugh thinks about McNabb. We don't ask Chris Berman about Bush's economic policy (thank God), we should stop asking AM talk-radio hosts and smarmy stand-ups what they think about the Eagles.

“In a fowl mood? Let Harry the Hawk give you a lift. I’m 7’2”, furry and am looking for shenanigans.”

The cheerleaders at Wisconsin, like at just about every other school, always hijack the opponent's mascot during games at Camp Randall and proceed to pile on him and pretend to beat him up. At one point in the late '90s, they evidently got a little too excited and actually broke the leg of the guy inside Purdue's Boiler Pete costume. Now, I hate Boiler Pete almost as much as Sparty the Spartan, but that was a little uncalled for. The poor kid struggled up one of the ramps before collapsing just out of site, proving that the guys inside these costumes take their jobs very seriously.
