Selig's resignation is lomg overdue. He was supposed to be an INTERIM commissioner when appointed. Every idea he's had has ruined the game, from refusal to face the steriod problem head on, to interlegue play between teams which have no tradional or natural rivalry. The only interleague play that should ever happen in the World Series. The World Baseball Competition is just another bad idea likely to result in injury to someone's importatnt player in a meaningless game. The problem of juiced players now nearly dominating the record books is reprehensible. Now, he's on the way to making MLB a pay-per-view event in most cities by failing to regulate the greed of owners who are now staring their own private television networks. Get rid of Selig before he drives away the few fans left to Major League Baseball.

Does anyone see the irony of this NCAA nonsense coming out of a meeting held in INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA?

4-time Iditarod Champ Susan Butcher Dies.
I had known of her battle for life for several years, but was still sad to hear this. She always treated her teams with respect and they repaid her with a loyalty that brought her her four victories. I was inspired myself by photographs of her with her winning lead dogs, Jodie and Preacher, to start to raise Huskies myself more than 25 years ago. In later years, she was one of several mushers responsible for developing the breed generically known as an Alaskan Huskie, a true racing dog. It would be a fitting tribute if the power-that-be in the AKC would recognize the breed at last and name it the Butcher Huskie.
