Pete Rose, Jr. pleads guilty to drug trafficking.

I was really hoping this was a site for those who use knowledge and facts. Not just opinions. Jr. didn't know it was illegal, because it wasn't illegal when he did it. He simply has come forward after it has been made illegal. The " Like father like son" comment obviously comes from someone who is not close to the family. Jr. is momma's boy. He tried to be like dad, for dad, but wasn't into it like his dad. So, if I drive 65 mph on the interstate, and 2 years from now they reduce the speed limit to 55 mph again, am I going to get a ticket for how fast I drove today? Get your facts straight folks. I love opinions, but base them on something.

Pete Rose, Jr. pleads guilty to drug trafficking.

I played ball with Jr. He is as genuine as it gets. What he did was legal at the time. He really isn't anything like his dad. He takes after mom. Kind of naive. I don't think what he did was right, but I think he got caught up in something he didn't know much about, as far as consequences. He does now. And the court will decide his fate, and he will deal with it like a grown man. Which puts him way ahead of his old man. So don't make comparisons without having the knowledge or the actual fatcs.

Hines Ward plans to hold out

Great point rcade. A contract may be considered legal and binding, but very rarely is there a clause that states that there can't be any changes to that legal document. And yet football is just a game, so let's let the players play who want to play, and the employees work who want to work, so that we, the fans can enjoy the perception of two teams playing a game, not two businesses doing their job.

Hines Ward plans to hold out

It isn't fair to compare Swann to Ward. Different Day and age. None of those players were paid there worth back then, and that was a time when contracts were obligated. The Steelers won without spending big money. It's been a long time since they have won a Super Bowl, but winning has not been a big problem, and they continue to keep payroll down. That is why they have such a faithful following all over the country. They are a blue collar team. They aren't the only team like this, and believe me, I think Hines should get what he is worth. He just may have to leave Pittsburgh to get it. If so, the Steelers will suit someone else up, and go about their business. I hate to see any star player have to play for multiple teams, but it has become a norm over the years.

Hines Ward plans to hold out

Hines Ward is actually my favorite receiver since Lynn Swann because of his style of smash mouth football from that position. He deserves to be the highest paid player on the team at this time. However, if he holds out for more, then he may as well go to Oakland or Dallas where it's all about the money. When it's all about money, you are no longer Steeler material. Hence, Eric Green, Barry Foster & Rod Woodson.

Heath Miller

2 years ago the Steelers were heavy favorites going into the season, and they had a total meltdown. They have all the weapons necessary, so can they survive being one of the targets this year?

Steelers have a tough schedule, but if they stay healthy, they will win their division, which is no cake walk this year, and the toughness of shedule will make them better in the playoffs. Pittsburgh didn't have to buy their team to be a dynasty in the 70's, and though that has worked for New England, which now have Vrabel & Brown, (original Steelers), a great team is still about chemistry and loyalty. And that means the players, coaches and the front office. Pittsburgh is still the greatest dynasty in the NFL.

Heath Miller

Burress caught passes because of his height advantage. Randall El will just flat out get open because of his speed. Miller is there to give Ben even another option, especially on quick passes. Does anyone remember a Steelers tight-end named Green and what he did to opposing defenses?
