Women's Volleyball Players Get Bikini Reprieve: In order to respect and accommodate the cultural beliefs of various countries, women volleyball players will be given more of a choice in clothing at the London Olympics this summer. Instead of having to wear bikinis, the International Volleyball Federation has announced that women will be allowed to wear shorts and tops with sleeves. The new rule permits “shorts of a maximum length of (1.18 inches) above the knee,” so I doubt we’ll be seeing any board shorts on the beach.

High school team gets technical for wearing pink cancer uniforms: If they thought there was a problem, it should have been addressed before the game,” Burke head coach Luke Lueders said. “To have that happen at halftime caught us all off-guard.”

Jerry West: Teams shouldn't give in: According to former Los Angeles Lakers general manager Jerry West, teams needn't worry so much about a superstar demanding to be traded.
West, being careful not to mention players by name, alluded to situations like the one the Orlando Magic currently faces with Dwight Howard, saying there's no reason teams should give into those demands.
Asked what he would do as a lead executive in a situation where a superstar has made it known he wants out, the ex-Laker executive said it was fairly clear-cut.
"I honestly think I'd call their bluff," West said in an interview on 710 ESPN's Mason and Ireland show Thursday, not mentioning Howard specifically. "I really would, because I don't think any agent or player is going to leave $30 million on the table. ... I just don't believe that's going to happen."

SEC Schools Sign Fewer Players In 2012: So what impact did the SEC's new soft 25-man signing cap have on the league's programs in its first year? A pretty big one.
On average, SEC schools signed about three less players apiece on signing day 2012 than they did on signing day 2011. And for our purposes we include both Missouri and Texas A&M though they were in the Big 12 for previous signing days.

When Alabama replaces it will they count that as another National Championship?

I live in the Knoxville area and have met Pat several times. She even occasionally attended the church I went to as a teenager. There is no one with more class than she has and she will be sorely missed as the head coach for the Lady Vols BB. However, there is no one with as close to the knowledge of Pat to take over as Holly Warlick. Good luck Pat and you are still in our prayers.

I think they should have allowed Mark Cuban to buy them.

What will this do to the viewer ratings in the male 13-? age group? Does anyone watch women's volleyball for the sport?

The sports montage was great, many memories some good some not so good, I saw a lot of things I remember seeing on TV when they happened, from my childhood and up. Thanks for the link.

Put it this way - head to head, Tony Romo would beat Tiger at golf precisely never.
Did Romo not just out shoot Tiger in the final round at Pebble Beach?

All Danica has to do to gain credibility is to win something.... as far as I know she had never won a race in Indy cars either. Most drivers who make the switch at least had some measure of success in their previous class. She has good equipment and ok crew so time will tell on the driving.
No one is going to fault a Nascar driver for marketing. The issue I have is that she's selling herself as cheesecake while claiming it's offensive to view her that way.
I agree, don't make money off of selling with sexy and then complain for being called sexy, if all she wants to be called is pretty then maybe she should do those commercials wearing a below the knee sun dress with a nice floral pattern. But we all know that doesn't sell anything today.

Montoya's helmet had a melted place on the outside of it after he climbed out, you know it was hot, jet fuel burns hot enough to bring down towers. He definitely had someone watching over him. Kudos to NASCAR for all the safety features.

From a personal standpoint I would hate to see that happen just because of my love for the game at all levels of competition. But could you even imagine the economic disaster that could result from no football. Just the loss of jobs within the sport alone would be difficult to absorb, especially considering the job losses already being absorbed. However, the loss of football would stretch into many other fields with revenue losses and job losses. heck, crime rates would probably even go up drastically.

I don't know what the color of the uniform matters as long as they did not come out in the same color as the visiting team. I have seen that happen in high school football. My high school's rival used to pull all kinds of stunts before, during, and after games.

Tony Romo's about to throw a pick. I know it.
It must be the fourth quarter with a less than a touchdown lead.

Maybe Mark Cuban would be interested since the MLB is not interested in his money. He may make a few waves here and there, but he is entertaining and tries to build winning programs.

West can probably afford to call their bluff seeing that he worked in one of the two most alluring cities for media and endorsements while in LA. I am not so sure he would go out on that limb in Memphis unless he has players really wanting to endorse FEDX.

I am from the Knoxville area, I got to hear all of them daily. He may win quite a few games at USC which mostly recruits itself, but I am glad to be rid of him. Dooley may not be the answer but he is a much better person.
Kiffin's comment was something about the recruit would be pumping gas the rest of his life after he passed on UT. It made a big stink around here, especially since the recruit was from a school in Florida that mass produced 1A talent.

MLB prediction thread!
The Cubs will NOT win the World Series! That's about as far out on the limb as I can go baseball is a peculiar game when it comes to what's on paper and what actually happens.
