Munster take their second European title: Sat. was Heineken Cup final day, with Munster looking for their second title, while Toulouse were hunting for their fourth European Cup. Some called billed it the beast against the beauty but while this game was only occasionally beautiful it was a totally gripping game.
In recent seasons Munster have signed more international players and while these imports didn't manage to score they certainly came close and created some lovely plays. This was a hugely emotional game due to a number of reasons; the main one being that it was Declan Kidney's last game in charge as he is moving to take over the running of Ireland's national side. Leaving the question of where do Munster go from here for another to answer.
The compulsory YouTube highlights and of course the pre-game Gift Grub sketch

"This fella, Ronaldo, he's a cod": RTE's TV pundits show they really don't like Cristiano Ronaldo (via). Why does he seem to polarise opinion in a way that other players don't?

40 games down: With the pool stages of the RWC over it is time for the remaining 8 nations to look ahead. For some of thos going home there are high points to reflect upon; for others the hatchets are waiting.

Sportsmanship hasn't gone away.: Last month the Carling Cup match between Leicester City and Nottingham Forest was abandoned after Clive Clarke suffered a heart attack. At the time Forest were leading, so, in a sporting gesture Leicester allowed Forest a "free goal" at the start of the rematch.

To be honest, while we're always happy to beat the English (no offence England :) ) this victory means nothing to the vast majority of Irish people because it isn't a hugely popular sport over here. Will we say "yay" of course we will, and we'll be happy with the win, and proud of the guys. But lifting the national spirit? I think Enda Kenny is just looking for any happy story.
Still, congrats lads, nice one :)

Yeah, I'd have to agree that it seems unfair if it took a slow-motion replay to catch the movement.

Well, it is more that they say that a breaking curveball is an optical illusion rather than it not existing.

Have to agree with DiCaro. Why on earth would you create a separate identity when you are covering the same sport, unless you are seriously going to change your method of reporting on it. Which I'm guessing will involve sparkling it up somehow.
Urgh. When i watch sport I want to watch sport, not some marketing notion of what appeals to a female sports fan. I have no issue with increasing coverage of women's sports, but that doesn't seem to be what this is about.

Urgh. Can Sepp Blatter get a clue any time soon. Or is this just a PR move designed to distract attention from other areas?
A draw can be just as dramatic as a win in that it can hugely affect the table, and require much scratching of the head and the working out of various permutations.

Wow that is one amazing photo!
Although I have to say that I have very little sympathy for bullfighters. Bullfighting doesn't strike me as beautiful at all. The bloody killing of an animal doesn't strike me as pretty.

If anyone is thinking about going to see this film I really can't recommend it enough. It came out in the UK/Ire last year. It is a black comedy, with plenty of bleakness in it, but then again it is a Ken Loach film, however I don't think it is too depressing.

On the one hand: Urgh. Can we just drop this whole incident already. Most football fans I know were over it the day after it happened. The only reason the FAI aren't is because it is means a loss of revenue.
On the other hand: I'm all for after match citations. I think games should be scrutinised after the fact and players who cheat and dive should be punished.

I think the whole idea of asking could we(being Ireland) could be team 33 is ridiculous. But its just as ridiculous for Blatter to bring it up in that fashion at a press conference. All of Ireland knows the FAI are morons. They've just proven that fact to the world.
What we all should really be whining about is bloody Ritchie McCaw getting player of the year when he's been out for half of it, and BOD has played brilliantly in every game.

I realise this will probably sound appallingly sexist
Agreed. It is. And then to try and sugarcoat it at the end by saying "hey its just my opinion" urgh.
