Pace Mannion NBA Pick 'Em, Week 11: There are nine nationally televised NBA games this week, including an MLK Day tripleheader. Howard_T expands his lead in our contest. Indiana and Boston start things off on Wednesday at 8 p.m. Eastern.

Fellow players: Are you watching more NBA games because of the contest? I never noticed how the NBA scheduled national games before I started this. I'd catch the Mavericks when they were on locally and otherwise only see games if I stumbled upon them.

We have to make our picks for 2 games on Friday the 13th. OK, it comes on a Wednesday this month, but it's still the 13th. There are some tough picks this week. I will be at the Pacers vs Celtics on Wednesday. Celtics have had an awful habit of blowing large leads and losing late; it's the absence of a true "go-to" guy. It makes for some exciting basketball, but it is getting rather frustrating for us Green fans.

I usually watch all of the Celtics away games, as well as those home games for which I have given away my tickets. Because of the contest, I now tune in to catch at least some of the evening's offerings. I also have the NBA Channel on DirecTV, so I can look at a lot of the highlights and a few games that appear on local broadcast rather than network. It all depends on what else is on the tube. While I have always been a basketball fan, my interest in teams other than Boston has increased since I've had my season tickets.

I watch all the Nuggets and as much as I can catch of the Bucks. So, after I'm done with those sad sacks I rarely want to watch any more basketball.

I thought I was dead with about 3 minutes left in Boston vs Indiana last night. A 12-0 run to close things out saved the win for me, but I found myself in the strange position of rooting for Isaiah Thomas to MISS a couple of free throws in order to get the spread to 6. Shame on me. The TD Garden was a fun place to be in the last few minutes of that game.

Howard_T wins the week, hitting an exact spread and expanding his lead by 5. All of us hit our slam dunk and miss the Knicks win in Miami.
Rules
Pick the winner and spread for each game. Score 5 points if the team wins, 3 more points if your spread is close and another 2 if you hit the spread exactly.
At your option, make one game a slam dunk to triple your score in victory or lose 5 points in defeat.
Read the detailed rules on the first week's post.
If SportsFilter is down and you need to submit your picks, you can send them in email to me.
This Week's Games
An extra large nine-game slate of national games, thank to a tripleheader on MLK Day. Two nice matchups for LeBron's Cavaliers against the only two teams above them in the standings. The red-hot Clippers host the underperforming Rockets.
