Montreal completes the comeback to send the Winnipeg faithful home heartbroken. Toronto barely hangs on to end up on the right side of a see-saw battle. Calgary stomps B.C. early and often to coast to victory, and Saskatchewan comes out firing in a lopsided match.
2013 opens up strong with a three-way tie at the top, and another four tied for fourth. Based on this exhaustive sample size, I predict the season will end in an eight-way tie.
It's week 2, and time to hit the road for the second set of home openers.
WEEK 2
Winnipeg @ Montreal (Thursday, July 4)
Winnipeg faces a challenge in the second half of the home-and-home: nobody wants to open the season 0-2, but le Stade Molson is a tough place to scratch out a win.
Toronto @ B.C. (Thursday, July 4)
Toronto takes the fun plane out west, riding the high of a first-week win. But B.C. Place or whatever it's called now is also rude to visitors.
Calgary @ Saskatchewan (Friday, July 5)
With big wins for both these teams last week, I think it's safe to say that the winner of this game is guaranteed the division. Called it.
Edmonton @ Hamilton (Saturday, July 7)
Edmonton should be worried: falling flat in their first game, and now an all-expenses-paid trip to Guelph, Ontario? I know that strikes fear into MY heart.
Good luck!
