I really wish this could be TGIF day, but I guess I'll have to settle for So Happy It's Thursday. That's about the way my predictions have gone. Ah well, naught remains but to play out the string.
Hamilton at Montreal: The cats head toward the bird cage hoping to feast on a petite Alouette. The little lark turns into a large raptor that threatens to tear up poor kitty. Kittty escapes, but spends the next week sitting in a corner licking itself and pretending that nothing happened. Hamilton by 3.
BC at Winnipeg: Man oh Manitoba, how can BC possible lose to the lowly Bombers. Well, I suppose there is a number of ways they could, but since there are no strange planetary alignments predicted, nor are there any alien invasions suspected, BC won't lose. Lions by 16.
Calgary at Sasketchewan: Rough Riders started out like they could ride any old bronco, but they've been thrown a few times since. Stampeders have been set back a few times, but they've not yet been truly run off the field. My bet is that Riders climb back aboard, hang on nearly until the end, but sadly wind up in the dirt once more. Calgary by 2.
Edmonton at Toronto: Knock knock. Who's there? Eskimo. Eskimo who? Eskimo questions and I'll tell you mo lies. The Argos are asking if they can keep the Eskimos from breaking the door down. They can't. Edmonton by 8.

Montreal salts away a nice character-builder in Edmonton, and Toronto does the same in Calgary. Winnipeg holds their ground against Hamilton, while B.C. does the same against the Bombers.
Another week, another leader. tommytrump nails the B.C. spread for a neat five points and sole possession of first place.
It's the last week before the vaguely critical Labour Day showdowns, which means almost as much in the standings as this Pick 'Em.
WEEK 9
Hamilton @ Montreal (Thursday, August 23)
This is a little more familiar. Hamilton has a losing record and Montreal is tied for first. Has regression to the mean set in already, or is there another surprise around the corner?
B.C. @ Winnipeg (Friday, August 24)
Winnipeg is struggling to get out of the basement, while B.C. looks to fend off any challengers to the division lead. Winter is coming in the 'Peg, but I'd still put my money on the Lions.
Calgary @ Saskatchewan (Saturday, August 25)
It's a true battle of the basement, but Saskatchewan's four-game losing streak since starting 3-0 gives this basement a nasty funk.
Edmonton @ Toronto (Monday, August 27)
It's the world premiere of the Revenge of Ricky Ray, Part XVIII. Get your tickets now!
Good luck!
