MLB Post-Season Pick 'Em, LCS Edition: After a fairly pedestrian LDS in which nothing much of note happened, we can now look forward to the ALCS and NLCS and the intriguing possibility of Carl Crawford being traded to the Yankees in mid-series. Hedge your bets and make your picks inside.

Hmm. In order to get under an 8.5 game score, I would need to give up singles to the first nine batters. And then get yanked.
Actually that's probably how a pitching appearance of mine would go, at any level.

I thought my first round sucked, but apparently it was good enough for a tie for second. (That, however, doesn't say much for the rest of you.)

Man, I've really waited until late in the game to put these picks in. It's because I've been agonizing over the NY-Texas series. It could be a beauty. So here goes:
Texas Rangers in 7. If NY wants to win it, they best not get to game 7. I like Rangers' chances against anyone but CC.
Philadelphia in 6. The Lincecum vs Halladay matchup looks to be a great one for the baseball purists*, but boring for those who need runs to watch the game. It boils down to mathematics: 2H + O > L.
For lowest ERA, I'll go along with much of the crowd and call Lee in the AL and Halladay in the NL. Cream always rises to the top.
Game score is a new concept for me, but after looking at some of the results and the relative rarity of a 90+ score, I'll go with the UNDER.
* My son & I saw Greinke vs Weaver in Anaheim in August, and it was beautiful baseball. In a 2-1, 10 inning nail biter, the combined line for the starters was 16 IP, 12 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 17 K. Neither starter was involved in the decision. Lots of "small ball" from both sides, just like the old days.

So Doc and Freak finish with game scores of 52 and 58, respectively. Not exactly the barn-burner many were expecting.
But have faith, over-pickers! Oswalt, Lee, and Pettitte will make their first LCS appearances over the next 36 hours.

Yup. Cliff Lee's 8 innings of 2-hit, 13 K shutout have notched him a game score of 90. The overs have it.
Close shave though. Had he allowed one more hit, he would've been at 88 and under.

Curtis Granderson just barely squeaks into eligibility with exactly 12 PA, but carries the bonus with his .500 OBP. (Nobody picked him, so I left him off the chart.)
In the Grudge Match stats, the NL throws three complete games to the AL's one, and ends up averaging nearly 6.1 innings per start to the AL's 6.0. So the NL wins the Grudge Match, but the differential ends up being rounded to zero.
Please double-check your picks to make sure I got 'em right.
