Hidden: SI Best sports movies.: With no football this weekend. Thinking might be fun to get some opinions on favorite sports movies.
One golf movie that I thought was "most excellent" would be "Dead Solid Perfect". It starred Randy Quaid, and was quite hilarious.

I haven't seen North Dallas Forty in ages. That's a good one. My submission for HOF consideration is: The Bad News Bears. Because that was my friends and I at that same period of time. But we were a pretty good team.

First movie that I thought of wasn't even on that list... Brian's Song. I agree with Bull Durham as #1.

In case anyone else stumbles by this thread via RSS, the thread was closed because the article was from 2001 and therefore past its freshness date. The wiki article lives on for anyone who wants to continue to add sports-related films to it.

I'd put Tin Cup on that list. "Sex and golf are the two things you can enjoy even if you're not good at them."
