Eddie Robinson passes away: Eddie Robinson, who sent more than 200 players to the NFL and won 408 games during a 57-year career, has died. He was 88.
RIP, Coach Robinson. You are truly one of the greats in American sports. He had been suffering from Alzheimer’s, which was diagnosed shortly after he was forced to retire following the 1997 season... Alzheimer's is such a scary disease and so often we read about it kicking in after a dramatic change in one's life.

Nothing to say here except I wish there were a thousand more of him.

He made the Bayou Classics I attended while a colleege student in New Orleans memorable. RIP.

Coach Eddie Robinson needs to be put in the very same category, if not on top, of the list of all-time great coaches and not only in college but coaching-wise period. We're talking about a man that when he started coaching, began with nothing. No assistants, no home stadium to play in and while playing on the road, he actually had to make sandwiches for his players to eat because at the time, most restaurants were "White Only" and all his players were black. Times may have changed but this is a man that helped mold some of the best NFL players that ever played the game and also the first black quarterback to win a Super Bowl in Doug Williams. Rest in Peace, Coach.

“The real record I have set for over 50 years is the fact that I have had one job and one wife,” Robinson said. Classic. I Just noticed this was an ap story.
