Steve Nash: End of an Hair-a: Nash takes a set of clippers (no pun intended) to his flowing do. Now, will he be able to play through it, or will it have a Samson-like effect on his game?

Steve is a clean cut role model we can all appreciate. I hope the Samson mystique is true when he plays against my Spurs.

Looks like a clean shave...and a new look, which may be what the Suns need to make it to the Finals this season (I think they're quite capable this year)... Just imagine how many assists Nash would have had in 2004 and 2005 had he not had that hair in his eyes...(j/k)

I'd worry less about a Samson effect and worry more about him playing like Ralph Sampson.

It's been a long time coming. Lucky he's so freakin' great or that hairdo would have gotten him crucified for years.

Ripley!! Ripleeeee!!! I love me some Steve Nash - but he totally looks like the kind of player that won't go gently into a gradual decrease in ability. He'll pull a Gary Payton and just wake up one day, unable to play basketball. Then he'll spend a few games sitting on the bench staring at his hands with a confused look on his face. I pray this doesn't happen until sometime after 2008, and a Suns championship (next year).

Thanks for the insight there, Socrates. I liked Steve's flowey hair. Made all those cuts and darts look dramatic from far away, kind of like how pro wrestlers tend to go for the long hair to sell their actions to the folk in the back row. The new haircut reminds me of Jason Williams. and he won a title. so maybe Nash is going for some of that mojo, somehow.

You know who's happy about this? The guys who develop the video games. No more worrying about if Nashy's hair is moving in a "photorealistic" fashion.

hahahahaha...nice one Weedy...so what the guy got his locks trimmed, you or me getting our hair cut generates 1/1000th this buzz... How about focusing on how the Suns are gonna improve upon last year? How will Amare Stodamire, Boris Diaw and Shawn Marion will gel along the frontcourt...how the Marcus Banks signing will affect the team? How about Amare, how is he doing? And what about Leandro Barbosa? Will this be the year he becomes the starter next to Nash in an already potent offense? And of course will the World Championships affect this team?

They showed this on the local news last night and I turned to my girlfriend and said "Holy shit, he looks like Michael Stipe!".

Now if he can just stop licking his fingers all the time.

He looks really old without the hair. Anyways, the Suns should be back to championship form next year, as long as Amare stays healthy, and Marion has another big year.

Now if he can just stop licking his fingers all the time. I think point guards develop that habit in high schools nice enough you're not worried about what's on the floor and never break the habit. I always hated that. You can't possibly be that dusty/ get that much better touch.

Don't worry, he can still run an offense and drain a three.

Is it just me, or does the cut make him look like a pencil neck?

Steve Nash is a good player, but come on, he is no 2-time MVP. The hair was gettin almost as crazy as the MVP voters!

Steve Nash is a good player, but come on, he is no 2-time MVP. The hair was gettin almost as crazy as the MVP voters! Actually, he IS a 2 time MVP. I liked his hair, but now he looks like he's goin' to my barber! Get over it, I suspect the voters know talent pretty well, and for sure wouldn't get fooled twice.

Nash was an incredibly good player for the last 2 years. I don't see him getting any better, and the Suns need to make their move soon. Nash will actually turn 33 next season. Amare will be great and Marion is also still young. However, Marion seems to be in the trade rumors a little too often. This Suns team needs to be in the Finals within the next two years, or else Steve Nash won't be a big part of a championship team. Despite my entire comment, he is a thrill to watch, and definately deserves the past two years MVP award. LeBron's team wasn't good enough, same with Kobe. D'Wade wasn't the MVP until the post season. And Dirk should be considerred behind Nash anyway. Legit 2-time MVP.

ALL OF YOU KNOW! That Nash was not the TRUE MVP! Employee Number 8 in the Forum Blue (purple) and Gold was no question hands down the Real Most Valuable Player. Nash is an OVERACHIEVER POINT BLANK! Look at it from this perspective, if KB8 or LJ23 put up the same numbers that he did, they are UNDERACHIEVERS! and there teams do not make the playoffs either, YA HEARD!...Did Kobe or Lebron play with another all star?.....YEAH YOU KNOW THE DEAL!

Nash looks like a hard core criminal, with the "don't fuck with me" attidude..not the peace loving, tree hugging, pothead paficist type, i wonder if he keeps his new 'do for the season..who knows? maybe he'll do a mvp 3peat and a championship..
