Manny isn't going anywhere!: I've said it all along. The guys is just weird. Great hitter but weird. As a Red Sox fan I would hate to lose Many even after all the drama. I know a lot of Dominicans, being Puerto Rican myself, and one thing I've experienced first hand is how flaky they are when it comes to business. Not to say all are the same but just my personal accounts. Don't know why but I'm just happy to hear it from the horses mouth. He ain't going no where.
I see. Sorry about that. Is there some kind of guidelines page where I can get up to date on posting procedures? I'm fairly new here. Great site by the way. Interesting to read some of the comments.

Manny will be gone quicker than you can imagine if any team is willing to meet Boston's demands (or vice versa). What he "wants" isn't the point. He's the type of person who needs to be told what he wants, then made to live with it (which he'll do (statistically), if history is any gauge, albeit with much talking, whining, and ridiculous behavior).

As hard to believe as it may seem, I believe in Manny the Met. This is how one can look at it. Shaq to Miami was the Ruth to Yanks of the modern era. This trade is not as lopsided and bizarre as the Shaq trade.

It seems Manny's agent has come out to say that Manny told him that he didnt say as to what he was quoted to have said.

Manny'd only go to the Mets if Beltran went to Boston.

Manny does not need to leave Boston, If they want another chance at the title in the future. Without Manny, Boston is nothing. It is bad enough that they lost Damon

You got a little irony on your shirt there, pal. Shaq to Miami was the Ruth to Yanks of the modern era. One need only look at all the NBA championships Shaq's brought to South Beach.

How can u criticize Shaq yet, hes been there one season. Why are we talking about Manny being traded to the Mets, the talks of the trade were him goin to Baltimore for Miguel Tejada.

No no no no no, Shaq leaving is by no means a Ruth-level blunder. The babe still had many, MANY years of Hall of Fame-level play in him. In Shaq's case, he had last year left in him and even this season his minutes are heading south. Three good years tops out of Shaq...that is not a curse-level transaction. I'd say a much more comparable trade to Ruth would be the Dodgers dealing away Pedro for DeShields. Brrrrrrrr...

Unless youre a Red Sux fan, who cares? This punk is a jackass. Maybe the most overrated player in baseball. Sure, his offensive numbers are huge, BUT the rest of his game is offensive too. He cant run the bases, (9 year olds I coach have better base running skills), he cant field, he cant throw, and he is a huge P.I.T.A. Sure he brings a bat to the park, along with an attitude thats better suited for the playground. And to JOE88...WHAT??? Shaq=Babe Ruth? The Parrish trade or the Dennis Johnson for Rick Robey trades in Celtic history are more lobsided than the Shaq deal. Shaq in NO WAY can be compared in his sport to the Babe in baseball. Shaq is overrated as well. If you can imagine the Shaq trade is even in the same ballpark as the Sux selling the Babe to the Yanks, I just have one word for you my friend...DETOX!

Just an FYI, ProSam: isolated expressions of whimsy from baseball players don't really make for good posts to the front page here, especially when it's from someone as flighty as Manny Ramirez. If there was a trade or a contract restructuring or something actually eventful, then sure, but this is neither news nor really interesting. If you have really strong feelings on the matter that you'd like to express, you might consider writing a column for us.
