Razor with an edge: is Dallas Stars broadcaster Daryl "Razor" Reaugh's new blog, hosted on the official Stars website. While it's still kind of nascent and there's not a whole lot of content, this is the first time I've seen a pro team host a blog of their own. Are there others out there?

I like the dictionary link to 'opines'. Know your audience. Sammy would probably tell you about a punchy former Bruin who kept up a newsletter-type dealie. Not exactly a blog, but similar. I can't find a link at the moment. somewhat OT, but I ran into Benoit Pouliot's blog hosted at nhl.com. This is the first time I've seen a pro league host a blog of their own. And It's nice to hear about a draftee other than Sid Crosby. ...and further OT...Oh Baby! Could I actually be right about Naslund and Forsberg putting on Leaf unis? Well, it looks like I could be half-right, maybe.

And, to all those that say the players got jobbed, I'd say atleast the owners can't hide $100 million in revenue. "Ted Saskin, the senior director of the union, said it had coaxed the league into acknowledging about $100 million more in hockey-related revenue from sources including stadium-naming rights, arena concessions and local broadcast contracts."(nytimes) Not earth-shattering, but not pennies on the sidewalk either.

As insomnyuk alluded to - the NBA has their own Blog Squad made up of blogs by current and former players, media types and... Steve Urkel.

Gotta say, while not prolific ... Jaleel's pretty damned funny.

Of course Mark Cuban has his own blog too, although it's more about ... well, Mark Cuban than it is about the Mavericks.

Thanks for reminding me, Garfield. P.J. Stock was the first player blogger that I was aware of. Stock's ramblings were very entertaining, and at the time, I don't think anyone else was doing it. It wasn't a Blog, per se, but as an online journal I think it counts, and it was hosted on the Bruins Website. Disclaimer: I don't know the definition of "Blog" or "per se." I think I know the difference between my ass and a hole in the ground, but I sometimes worry that I'm digging in the wrong one for buried treasure. The point is that I might not know anything about anything. Stock's entries started out a little lame, but if you read through a bunch of them, he really starts to get away from the standard player talk, and gets more into the life of a role player in the hockey world. If you have the time, I suggest you check out his archives.

Paul Shirley, a bench player for the Suns, was maintaining a blog here.
