USA Today columnist Christine Brennan offers new details today on Peyton Manning's locker room mooning incident from 1996. Evidently, he also scored a touchdown on female trainer Jamie Ann Naughright. As she testified in a lawsuit deposition: "It was the gluteus maximus, the rectum, the testicles and the area in between the testicles. And all that was on my face when I pushed him up. ... To get leverage, I took my head out to push him up and off."
a time when sports could be just sports, without the police blotters and lawyers, when you could cheer for a guy without worrying that, the next day, you'd be hearing that he allegedly assaulted his wife or drove drunk or even was involved in a murder.
that was all fantasy...they did the same shit...we just didn't hear about it. Such an asshole? What's a teabagging between trainers and athletes? Seriously though, he should've just kept his mouth shut. Can't wait for him to be called the "idiot quarterback".

Man, IMHO this is precisely why we need to not let our opinions get swept up in the wave of media onslaught. A tasteless act to be sure - but as a kid at University I would hope that his reputation as a man wouldn't be destroyed because his sense of humor was a underdeveloped in 1996. It's called the benefit of the doubt. I've seen worse at high school parties (Let me tell you about the Bohemian Bum Blast some day)
Let's not blow this our of proportion. Of course he lied! Was he going to say he gave her a person-to-person pressed ham with all the fixins!?!
Fuck - this is too funny and sad at the same time. And for the reccord the area between the testicles and rectum has a name. I thought she was a athletic trainer? Taint, Choda, or Gooch will do - I've been waiting for one of those words to appear in a legal transcript.

Wow, Weedy ... can you bring your sister over so I can sit on her face? Underdeveloped?!? The guy was 20-21 years old, the age when many of us are working jobs, studying for school or getting shot at. If Manning didn't get at that point in his life that putting his rectum and testicles on an unwilling woman's face was wrong, I think it's not that he's immature. He's just a dick. Also bear in mind that Manning was the one who chose to dredge the incident back up. What a dumbfuck.

I wonder white she didn't push for sexual assault charges in the first place. Maybe that was part of her settlement. This is a shitty piece of news, and pretty damning towards Manning. I wonder if this will have any effect on his play. On preview: Nacha also works, Weedy, although I believe that actual medical term is Perenium.

That sounds like a "yo momma!" But good call on Manning bringing it up again. Dumbfuck indeed.

What a jackass. And in New England, we called that a grundle.

We say grundle over in California too. :)

I think that's exactly what the author meant, that it was a time when you had no idea your "heroes" were cocksuckers.
Mama, don't let my heroes turn out to be . . . it doesn't work.

Fine. Let's destroy his reputation because he continues to libel this woman for no reason other than to be a fuckhead.

I still got some tar and feathers left guys. I don't have the faintest idea who this Manning bloke is, but he sounds like a wanker. But then, I guess that's for a jury to decide.

Near as I can tell, malice has yet to be proved. All I'm reading is that a judge has found enough evidence to deny a dismissal. The original act certainly appears to be more than the "mooning" Manning tried to characterize it as, but that’s not the issue here. Manning did something stupid and then followed it up with the even stupider act of writing about it after it was settled. Perhaps he really did believe she had a vulgar mouth and maybe she even had one, but was it really necessary to put it in print? Who edited that book? And I have a real hard time believing that being accused in Manning's book of having a "vulgar mouth" cost her a promotion. But since it looks like she has a pretty solid defamation case why not pile on? Her lawyers are just adding fuel to the lawsuit bonfire. There will be another, bigger settlement and hopefully Peyton will keep his mouth shut here forward. Personally, I’m not ready to crucify Manning just yet, but that may be tainted by having Christine Brennan as the town crier. Her Title IX screed has so worn me out that I tend to discount anything she writes.

The "Manning bloke" is likely the number two best quarterback in the National Football League. Now ask me who the striker is for Lincolnshire and I'll give _you_ a blank look and then we can start over. I always thought it was the 'taint, personally. As in, "'taint your balls, 'taint your asshole"...

Dude, who cares about Peyton sitting on someone's face, actually seems like a funny prank to me, besides what the hell does that have to do with the football game? Right now the Colts look strong, but the Hawks look a little better each week. It's going to be a great game.

I had no idea that Manning was such an asshole. It takes a lot to prove malice in a libel suit, but Manning has lied so brazenly about this woman's conduct -- and his own -- that a judge has said sufficient evidence exists to prove it to a jury. Using his book to libel her was incredibly obnoxious. He should back the money truck up to her house now before the story gets any bigger.
