Liverpool "sign" Kewell.: Colour me gobsmacked.
I don't care. I'll take seeing this ten times. The 'Pool will rule this season! btw, StarFooker has died and gone to heaven. Well, if they sold Heskey, he probably would go to heaven.

KEWELL!!! KEWELL!!!!! KEWELL!!!!!!!! Finally, Liverpool will be kicking some ass!! worldcup, i may be in heaven when i see Heskey gone...you're right... But when i see Murphy and Carragher dropped to the bench or sold....THEN i'll REALLY be happy... We'll have to see what this does to the lineup.

Fucker, I notice that WC dropped Carragher off his starting XI in the other thread. One step closer but you'll be like Moses and never let in. If we start going good, the fates will have you change allegiances or something like that. Remember, pain is your friend!

What's wrong* with Murphy? * - As asked by someone who: a. is not a fan of any specific team b. has not followed the discussions here long enough to become familiar with any previously expressed/outlined anti-Murphy bias c. had noticed him in games this year as someone that could hit the net with a free kick rather than, say, David Beckham who seemed to do a great job of blasting it into the defensive wall d. does not currently have such an enhanced appreciation of football that would enable me to sort the players into the same kind of crap v non-crap piles that more astute fans can e. just wants to know so the next time he watches Murphy play he can be more critical

I don't know. You'll have to ask Fooker.

What does gobsmacked mean? gspm...if you are a real football fan, just watch Murphy during ANY game...you will ask yourself why Houllier insists on playing him.

i assume, at worst, the reason that houllier plays somebody is because in his eyes the alternatives he has are not as good. dudek lets in a few high profile howlers and prompts houllier changes keepers. makes sense to me. i don't see murphy putting balls into his own net every week so i dunno. what is it that murphy is doing that houllier can ignore but others can't? sure, next time i see him make a bad move i will notice but what about the not so glaring mistakes? how can i become a real football fan (didn't realize there was a gate i need to pass through) without a little help? i must admit to not appreciating the finer points of midfield play. provided passes are completed more often than not and the back line is not left out to dry then I don't really get into making to much of an assessment of midfield play. any suggested refinements to my critiquing of midfielders?

StarFecker is talking bollocks as usual. If we were only measuring Murphy in terms of pass completion and ability to get back and help out his defence he'd be one of the top midfielders in England. Add to that his free-kick taking skills, tackling and the ability to spot a killer ball and you've got a complete player. He'd walk into any team in the Premiership, and IMHO is very underrated, possibly because he gets overshadowed by Gerrard, in the eyes of the media at least.

Since Murphy is a regular starter for the England side, squealy, I would say he is one of the top midfielders in England by any useful measure. Fucker just has it in for Danny for some unacknowledged reason, perhaps one too personal to explain to us.

WooHoo! I never thought we'd get 'im, through all the rumours, but I didn't realise until I heard the news yesterday how much I wanted us to sign him. I'm made up. Come on the redmen! Chelsea first ...

Oh, and sorry to triple post (I always do this), but Danny is a hardworking midfielder whose heart beats to the same rhythm as the club. He's a useful squad player and can provide cover anywhere in the midfield. I guarantee he'll still get play this season whatever the preferred line-up. Plus he's usually good for a goal against the Mancs, which gets my vote.
